As a featured designer for LOAD516, I'll be sharing process videos to show you a little more about my layouts this month.
Day 30: ME, MYSELF AND I: Please don’t make me .... (fill in the blank). What do you hate doing? Why do you dread it? What helps you get it done, or who does it instead?
I struggled with this prompt, since I really don’t find chores taxing. Initially I thought of phone calls, which I often avoid, but I’ve already scrapped a page about that and honestly I don’t need two about how I don’t like making/taking phone calls! So I decided to talk about why I now enjoy the washing, which is very often one of those household chores that people dislike.
I looked in at my week in the life and moving in photos to find these photos, and I searched in my stash for a kit I knew I had with laundry themed items. I rarely use themed bits and pieces so it was fun to find a purpose for them.

Washing. It’s never ending, and if I’m not in a rush, I really don’t mind doing it. But, with a family of 6, it does tend to acumulate.
Our LG front loader is quick and Perth weather is conducive to line-drying in 4-6 hours!
When I was about 10, Mum let me fold the washing and watch VHS of Anne of Green Gables. Our TV was in the spare room at the time.
Since then the TV/folding association is strong!
Netflix and folding is a common way for me to spend my evenings. Depending on whethere Phill is around I’ve been watching:
- Downton Abbey
- Suits
- Fresh Prince of Bel Air
- The Big Bang Theory
- and of course, the cricket.
Now of course, ironing... I’m too much of a perfectionist to keep up with the long list of things Phill likes ironed, so he does it!
